BATTERY  CHARGERS (5-WATT TO 55-WATT)

Vehicle batteries begin recharging as soon as the engine is started.  When a car or truck isn't driven for a period of time, the battery gradually loses its charge even when the ignition key is turned off.   With the addition of many new electronic devices, such as GPS, DVD players, cell phones, etc., phantom loads cause even more drain on the battery.

NEST's Solinator(TM)  is designed to maintain batteries in fleet vehicles that receive periodic use and are parked outdoors.  The charger kit consists of a  photovoltaic panel (mounted securely on the rooftop) and a  compact charge controller that is easily mounted under the hood near the battery.  The controller's wires connect to the battery, and a second set of wires connect to the solar panel.

The Solinator(TM) is available in 12 or 24 volt versions and can be ordered with from 5 to 55 watts of solar collection.  It is ideal for maintaining batteries in police cruisers, emergency and rescue vehicle fleets whose electrical loads often exceed the norm.

The Solinator(TM) can also reduce vehicle idling--a major contributor to CO2 production and pollution--in addition to reducing fuel consumption.

The size and model of Solinator(TM)  required for an application depends on the vehicle's electrical loads.  To determine which  Solinator(TM) is right for your application, click on the sizing chart below.
